Meg McDermott is a filmmaker based in New York City whose work explores authentic, human stories with heart and purpose. Her love for filmmaking began early, sneaking her mom’s camcorder to create imaginative short films.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production and studying Directing at the MET Film School in Berlin, Meg began her career at Billboard and DCTV. Collaborating with documentary filmmakers there deepened her passion for projects centered on social justice and truth.

Guided by that vision, she’s contributed to projects and organizations that celebrate community and representation — including the 50th Anniversary of Pride NYC, Our Steps Foundation, Times Square Arts, and World Animal Protection. For the past six years, she’s been filming a deeply personal documentary about her family’s farm. This long-term project explores memory, legacy, and belonging.

When she’s not behind the camera, Meg can be found traveling to new corners of the world, cooking for friends, or floating in the ocean, always finding inspiration in real moments and honest connection.
